Our Sweet Story

From Colorado Native to Community Ice Cream Parlor Owner

Meet Naomi Sutliff

Naomi Sutliff, or as many know her, 'Mimi', has been a Colorado native her entire life. Anyone that knows her would describe her as a beacon of positivity even in the worst of times and an ally for any that call her friend.

Family First

She is a mother of three - Joe, Jamie, and Jenna. She has always put her family and friends over everything and has never asked for anything in return. Her dedication to those she loves has been the cornerstone of her character throughout her life.

The Challenge That Changed Everything

Ten years ago, she was diagnosed with a very aggressive breast cancer that put her life into a whirlwind. She was forced to adapt - not being able to do the same things she had always done before. Not being able to be the rock that she consistently was for everyone else. In the end, she came through, and we are all grateful that her diagnosis in the winter of 2014 wasn't the end of her story but a beginning to another.

A New Perspective

Being a professional lady her entire life was always a joy of hers, but life sometimes has a way of putting things into perspective. When given the opportunity to open an ice cream parlor, something she has fond memories of as a child and something that she knew could positively impact the community, she took the leap.

The Vision

Where can we go these days to enjoy a quality shake on a bar stool whilst listening to good music and being in the company of the ones you love? That's what Mimi's represents. Taking the little moments in life and making them the moments that you live for. All we can ask for in this life is to experience these special moments with one another and do our best to realize that life is best with your loved ones and a little churned cream.

The Reality

In 2024, Mimi's Sweet Treats opened its doors at 320 Main Street in Delta, Colorado. As a locally owned, woman-owned business, the ice cream parlor quickly became a beloved community gathering spot. From birthday parties to date nights, families from across Western Colorado began making Mimi's their go-to destination for creating sweet memories.
